Nikon D850: Notched (Discontinuous) Pixel values

See my Nikon wish list and get Nikon D850 at B&H Photo.

See my growing review of the Nikon D850 in Advanced DSLR.

I routinely look at RawDigger data for image files. quality. With the Fujifilm GFX, the raw file quality shows smooth continutity in all the color channels of the raw files.

With the Nikon D850 (and many other camers), the red and green channels are often “notched” as can be seen. I’m unsure of the image quality implications but it seem unlikely to have no bearing, particular in very dark tones.

Most pixel values are missing every 4th or 5th value in the red channel, every 5th or 6th value in the blue channel, and every 17th value in the green channel
