Sony A7R IV Monochrome Conversion by MaxMax.com
Last fall, I covered the 45-megapixel Nikon D850 monochrome by maxmax.com. IMO, the D850m is likely to far outperform the Leica M10 monochrome, with far superior lenses for starters.
MaxMax.com now makes available the the Sony A7R IV monochrome. The monochrome camera is 3X more sensitive to visible light after conversion. Creating one is a labor-intensive process of disassembly, stripping off the (CFA) chemically, then reassembly. Hence the pricing, but still far below the cost of a Leica M10 monochrome.

While I have not shot the Sony A7R IV monochrome yet, I presume the Voigtlander FE 50mm f/2 APO will be an even more spectacular performer than in color and a wonderful match in size to the camera and ideal for color filtration for classic black and white effects.
TIP: convert files to monochrome DNG via LibRaw Monochrome2DNG and “Method B”, then processed using Adobe Camera Raw. Doing so avoids any demosaicing.

I sent in my Sony A7R3 to https://www.monochromeimaging.com/ and couldn’t be happier with my decision, image quality is amazing. Just wanted to point out there are some options besides max max.com.
