Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 Aperture Series @ 14mm: Dusk Down-Canyon from Schulman Grove (Z8)
This series evaluates the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S at 14mm from f/2.8 to f/8 on a near-to-far landscape. This scene is typical of the sharpness and depth of field challenges when working outdoors.
What we’re looking for here is total performance, and how sharpness develops with stopping down, both near to far and across the frame, plus focus shift and how best to focus for a scene like this.
Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 Aperture Series @ 14mm: Dusk Down-Canyon from Schulman Grove
Includes images up to full camera resolution, plus crops.
View down-valley from near Schulman Grove. The road at left was the original finishing climb of the Everest Challenge, a 6200' climb from 4000' t 10200' that makes Tour de France climbs look like warmups, this climb being both higher in altitude and steeper and considerably greater in elevation gain. It’s my favorite climb in the entire state.
