Fujifilm GFX100 II: Worth it vs Fujifilm GFX100S? 100 Megapixels for only $4399...!

Reader Jason W writes:

Fujifilm GFX100 II

Be useful probably to see a Pro's and Cons Grid .

The 100 II is substantially more expensive, especially with the 100S on sale.

It's fine to say the 100 II is the better camera and it would be nice to have, but I'm still not really clear in my mind if what you'd be paying extra for would be worth the candle.

Yes, the EVF is flat-out superior and the color and SNR is a bit better. However, if you're freshly kitting up is it worth $3500-4000 for the EVF when you could get a 100S and 1 or 2 GF lenses? Should you really sell your 100S for the 100 II?

DIGLLOYD: I’ll be writing a conclusions page soon summarizing the field-usage gestalt and overall image quality sense from the GFX100 II.

It really comes down to a person al and subjective sense of the value proposition. On that, I cannot advise, but what I can do is call out what really mattered to me. The money part... you’re on your own.

Fujifilm GFX100 II: EVF Enjoyment, Operational Oh My!, older GFX100S Enervates

If you can easily afford the GFX100 II, it’s a significantly better experience and the image quality just looks better to me. But at $3100 less, you can buy two of my favorite lenses.
