Impact Five-in-One Collapsible Reflector Kit

The Impact Five-in-One Collapsible Reflector Kit provides a white translucent panel which can be covered by a white or black or silver or gold/silver cover for the ultimate in flexibility.

The reflector is large enough that one can lean it on something, though ideally an assistant can hold it at just the best angle, which is mandatory if one is outdoors and there is wind.

The black side can be used to absorb or block light instead of throwing more light into the sign. The other shades can add various color tints. I tend to like the silver/gold for portraits.

Stowed in its carrying bag, it’s about 2" thick and about 23" in diameter— very compact for carryhing.

Eliminates the need for multiple reflectors, silks and solids. The reflector features a removable, reversible cover which allows for five uniquely functional surfaces in three separate configurations: Silver, for crisp, cool fill, Soft-Gold for warmer fill, Black for eliminating unwanted reflections, and Solid White for softer fill. Remove the cover completely and reveal a single translucent panel for soft, diffused lighting effects

Suggested use: Ideal for a full length 1-2 adult portrait vertically, 3-4 person portrait horizontally.

  • Lightweight silfoil style, circular, steel framed reflector system.
  • Folds conveniently into a disk one-third its in-use size.
  • Includes handy, tear resistant nylon carrying pouch.
  • Shape Oval, Size Open 42" x 72" (107x183cm)
Size Collapsed 1/3 of working size
Surfaces Black, silver mylar, white, gold and translucent

Example

I often photograph bicycles for my road and mountain bicycling web site.

Since I don’t have space for a studio, I rely on natural daylight at dusk, but sometimes the contrast is just too high.

For this shot, I used the Impact 5-in-1 reflector with its gold/silver to illuminate the bike from the rear (my daughter held the reflector at the angle I desired).

The reflector opened up the shadows and filled in the bike frame from the rear, and (in this case) it also accentuated the two-tone effect of the two Lightweight racing wheels with different-color carbon fiber.
