Reducing Moiré in Nikon Z8 with Adobe Camera Raw Enhance Details
re: Adobe Camera Raw Enhance Details
Generations of cameras with sensors of ~50 megapixels and less are especially subject to obnoxious moiré and color aliasing. Even 60MP sensors as in Sony A7R V are subject to such artifacts, though significantly less.
It is why the oversampling of a 60MP sensor is always superior to a 45MP sensor and why pixel shift is such a plus (color moiré does not occur with pixel shift). Since the Nikon Z8 is 45MP and lacks pixels shift, it always produces images with worse digital artifacts, though most subjects do show it.
Use of Adobe Camera Raw Enhance Details can hugely improve image quality when moiré and/or color aliasing are present.
