Sony A1 PDAF Banding

re: PDAF banding
Sony A1 image quality overall seems to be the best ever seen in a Sony camera. My impression is that of improved tonal and color rendering over the Sony A7R IV. The ultra-clean RawDigger histograms for near black support my visual impression. I’d bet this is what Sony meant in touching on 15-bit dynamic range.
The Sony A1 image quality makes beautiful monochrome conversions.
And yet, as I said in a previous post: the Sony A1 might not be the ideal landscape camera because of the potential for PDAF banding, particularly for monochrome conversions.
And here we are: in the very first shoot outdoors with the Sony A1 , the first image I tried shows the horizontal stripes of PDAF banding. Yeah, it probably requires aggressive raw conversion settings, but that’s precisely what is needed for many B&W images. Bummer, but it was to be expected given the aggressive emphasis on high speed autofocus. OTOH, it is unlikely to be seen by most A1 users.
BTW, color moiré is also an issue—50MP isn’t enough to avoid it.
